Digitization for Resource Saving In response to environmental protection and to enhance information transmission efficiency, HLC continues to promote the digitalization of its operational processes, to reduce paper usage and resource consumption. As for used car business, the HOT Alliance officially converted its warranty manuals to an electronic version starting in March 2024. These are sent to car owners via LINE or email to gradually replace traditional paper documents and achieve paperless services. Since 2023, the Customer Service Department has progressively converted all regular maintenance notifications, vehicle inspection reminders, contract expiration notices, and SMS notifications (for typhoons, Lunar New Year, recalls, etc.) to email delivery. This initiative not only improves the timeliness of notifications and customer experience but also effectively reduces the paper and carbon emissions required for physical mail printing and delivery. We will continue its digitalization plan in 2025 and promote the electronification of various service notifications and operations. This aims to boost efficiency, enhance the customer experience, and achieve paperless sustainability.
Waste Recycling and Reuse To strengthen waste management and implement resource reuse, HLC 's HOT directly managed service centers continuously optimize waste recycling processes. Waste is managed by licensed recyclers, covering items, such as waste tires, spent batteries, waste oil, and scrap metal. All proceeds from the recycling of these materials are fully accounted for, with 70% allocated to a facilities fund used to support employees’ benefits and operational improvements. The principles for using the facilities fund are as follows: Can be used to enhance employees’ benefits, such as snacks, meal subsidies, and employee activity fees. Supports customer service improvements and business expansion. It requires prior application, hierarchical approval, and retention of receipts and supporting documents for auditing of all expenditures. Through the mechanisms mentioned above, we not only promote the legal treatment and recycling of waste but also ensure that recycling proceeds are reinvested in operations and employee benefits. This embodies the dual benefits of resource circulation and internal incentives, putting the concept of a circular economy into practice. HLC is committed to advancing resource circulation and reuse. By recycling usable automotive parts, we aim to reduce resource consumption and waste generation. According to statistics from 2021 to 2024, the Company continuously recycled renewable materials, including various parts, such as drive shafts, compressors, steering gears, lamps, and transmissions.
